Depending on where you live, if the note was entirely in your Dad's handwriting and signed by him, it may be valid as a "holograph Will." If it was not signed, it is not a valid Will.

4. I know that Dad made a recent Will, but I cannot find it anywhere. What do I do?

If you suspect that Dad made a Will with a lawyer, you can put an advertisement in the local lawyer's magazine asking if any lawyer in that area made a Will for your father.
